Sightseeing tips

Udine: a lively and dynamic city, located right in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Piazza della Libertà in the town center is considered to be the most beautiful Venetian square in the region. Visit the castle on top of the hill, which houses the Civic Museum. Have a walk in the shopping street Via Mercato Vecchio or discover the works of Tiepolo at the Archbishop's Palace.

Cividale del Friuli: It's an old village that stands on the banks of the river Natisone. The town still bears significant traces of the passage of the Lombards and Franks. The Lombard Temple is the unmissable, it is the highest expression of the High Middle Ages in Western Europe. An important reference must be made to its food and wine. It is a great meeting point for lovers of fine wine.

San Daniele del Friuli: is a town known for the production of the famous ham, now internationally renowned, but it must also be noted for its interesting historical traces and artistic treasures. A trip must be given on the "road of castles and ham" which runs from Colloredo di Montalbano, near Udine, and arrives in San Daniele through Cassacco, Buja, Majano and Fagagna.

Archaeological Museum of Attimis: the first regional museum dedicated to the daily life in medieval castles, which collects and presents prestigious archaeological faithful reconstructions of costumes and objects.

Aquileia: the town was founded in 181 BC and has an archaeological site of exceptional importance, aknowledged by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Do not miss the visit of the early Christian basilica of S. Maria Assunta and the numerous archaeological remains.

Grotte di Villanova - Lusevera, the New Cave has just been reopened.
